This non-profit campaign raises funds to build & beautify the memorial park on the site of Sandy Hook Elementary School .
As a gesture honoring the lost lives of the Sandy Hook tragedy in Newtown CT, local filmmakers joined director Ben Proulx to create “26 Angels”, a video featuring an original song by Boston musician and Berklee College of Music alumni, Justin Cohen.
20 children, ages 12 and under, sang the song with Justin, backed by 5 other musicians, totaling 20 children and 6 adults to represent the 26 victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School.
We have decided to use this video as part of a campaign to raise funds to help design and construct a memorial park on the land formerly occupied by Sandy Hook Elementary.
The community has decided to tear down the Sandy Hook Elementary School and in it’s place they will build a memorial park where people can come to come together to mourn, to remember, and hopefully, to heal.
The “26 Angels” team in Boston is proud to have joined forces with The Richard Paul Evans organization to install a commemorative angel statue on the site. This “Christmas Box Angel” statue is part of a worldwide network of memorial angel statues erected as places for parents to go to mourn lost children. In addition to this memorial “Christmas Box Angel” statue, we can use the funds we raise in other ways to help beautify the Sandy Hook memorial. Things like memorial benches, a beautifully designed garden around the angel, a water element like a pond or fountain, a labyrinth, etc.
We have the ability to spread the reach of this video, touch people’s hearts, and allow the world to tangibly contribute towards helping the recovery of the Newtown community by helping to build this memorial park.
Please help us make this happen!
