Semifinalist 2 years in a Row in a Film Score Competition — 03/11/2018

I made the Semi-Finals two years in a row at the Oticons International Film Music Competition. Here's what they had to say in their email to me this afternoon. "We're very happy to inform you that you've Qualified to Round 2! Your entry has been evaluated already as one of the 20 best among 209 participants that we had this year, so our sincere congratulations for such an achievement already!!!"

Musical Christmas Colors
Musical Christmas Colors

This is my latest release of two distinctive and modern instrumental arrangements of well-known Christmas songs. Both feature a blend of classical, jazz and world music. “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” is built on a bossa nova groove and is orchestrated with, bass, guitar, strings, oboe, flute, kalimba and duduk providing an unconventional and unique approach to this song. “Angels We Have Heard On High” is orchestrated with strings, guitar, choir, keyboards and rhythm section all in a jazz-imbued groove.

"Music For Stories Untold"

This is my first CD project. It is comprised of compositions that have been developed over the past 15 years. It is original music that I believe would work well in films as it evokes images of different places, people, and landscapes. While the music is appropriate for films, the music can be performed on its own as music for symphony orchestra or mixed ensemble. My musical style is influenced by my many years of orchestral experience. The sound is at times reminiscent of the late Romantic Era in “Epic Adventure Part 3” and the Impressionistic Era in “Transcendence”. As well, I break away from the traditional orchestral setting by combining it with a bit of Rock influence on “Rockin Asia Minor” and a bit of Middle Eastern influence on “An Arabian Night”. Again, this music is cinematic and will likely conjure up moods and feelings of different cultures and worlds.
