Ogechi was born in Kansas City, MO and is based in Atlanta, GA. The conscious rapper began performing in her elementary and middle school theatre programs. Around the age of twelve, she decided that creating art was a passion of hers. In high school, she decided to develop her lyrical ability as she began writing spoken word pieces. Ogechi decided to create and release music of her own in May of 2017, and is persistently working to make herself a force musically.
Audiences are normally graced with the very conscious lyrics in Ogechi’s music, no matter the instrumental. Ogechi’s sound is heavily influenced by the flows of artists like Kendrick Lamar and Lauryn Hill. Her production, depending on her mood, will embrace the sounds of funk and R&B artists such as Erykah Badu and The Gap Band. She is also influenced by the works of heavy hitters like Michael Jackson, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera. Her unpredictable vibes give every audience she meets something to look forward to in her music and performances.
Ogechi has released her EP, “Intersectional Blvckness,” as well as her mixtape “Ridd Redd: A Riddim Rapture.” She also has a few singles released. She is currently in the process of recording her second EP, “HipHoppa Schola,” which is set to release in February.
